How to get a carer's emergency card, and other useful contacts for carers
During COVID-19 many more people have become carers to friends, family and neighbours. If you're caring for someone over the age of 18 it's important you get a carer's emergency card. This will ensure that that person will be safe if you're caught up in an emergency.
Carers Matter Norfolk provides information, advice and support for unpaid carers aged 16+ who care for someone aged 18+. You can visit their website for information or contact them:
- Call 0800 0831 148 or 07537 417850 (text only). Phone lines are open Monday to Friday 8am-8pm, Saturday 4pm-8pm and Sunday 8am-noon.
- Email: [email protected]
They can help you to continue caring with confidence through a range of services.
The Carers Matter Advice Line provides free and confidential information and guidance. There's also community support available via the Carer Connectors team, who can give one-to-one support.
Carers Matter Norfolk also produces a handbook offering advice and information for carers. It covers various topics, including handling emergencies, benefits and looking after yourself and has a list of useful contacts.
