Black Friday and WhatsApp: scam updates
As we approach Black Friday, on 26 November, national scams teams are warning shoppers to be aware that they may not be getting the deal that they thought they were getting, as there are some very genuine looking scams out there - from technology to clothing. You can read more here
Those who use WhatsApp should be aware that, on 11 November, Whatsapp launched the STOP.THINK.CALL campaign, in partnership with Friends Against Scams. The campaign aims to help educate the British public on how to protect themselves and their WhatsApp account from message based scams.
WhatsApp have enlisted Joel Dommett as a SCAMbassador for Friends Against Scams, once a victim of a scam himself, to help share some simple advice that can keep people safe.
