Holding statement: Guidance on safeguarding and medication error
In response to a number of queries, Norfolk County Council (NCC) and Norfolk Safeguarding Adults Board (NSAB) are currently drafting guidance for providers about what to do in the event of a medication error and when to report this as a safeguarding concern.
We expect to publish this new guidance in the week commencing 10 June 2019.
The guidance will be applicable to all accredited providers; nursing and residential care homes, home care, supported living and day services.
NCC is also helping to revise the Medication Policy for Homecare providers. The new Medication Guidance will be aligned with all current contractual and Framework Agreements.
