Update on Mental Capacity (Amendment) Bill

The Mental Capacity (Amendment) Bill has concluded its remaining stages in the Commons this week and the House of Lords will consider amendments later this month. The Bill has changed to include amendments that remove perceived conflicts of interests in independent hospitals, and improves the oversight role of councils and other bodies. The bill is expected to receive Royal Assent shortly.
