Conversations Matter

Promoting independence is something that Norfolk's adult social services has been advocating for the past seven years, or so.  During the summer of 2023, it launched Conversations Matter.  This is a large scale listening activity to gather more general views and experiences.  They would like to hear from as many Norfolk residents as possible about what would help them stay independent and understand what independence means for them.  They want to encourage as many people as possible to respond, even if they have never used their services.  The engagement will be ongoing.

You can get involved by sharing the online questionnaire with your networks, colleagues and also complete it yourself.  It is available in large print and easy read, too.

You could also run your own local discussion.  You may want to run:

  • a one-to-one conversation with somebody in your group/community, or with a colleague
  • a group discussion - for example, putting a discussion on the agenda or a meeting or event that you have planned.  This can be with members of the public, councillors or your colleagues
  • an event or workshop - put together an event just for your organisation, group or community to look at the ideas in the discussion pack

The online (and printable) questionnaire, downloadable discussion pack, timetable of events and videos can be found here
