Your chance to influence a business case for a self-neglect & hoarding service

A service for complex self-neglect and hoarding cases – please give us your views

Norfolk Safeguarding Adults Board (NSAB) has been working with a number of key partners to develop a business case for a service to address complex self-neglect and/or hoarding cases. Here is your opportunity to influence the business case. We know there is a county-wide gap in a service that can work with individuals with complex and long standing self-neglecting and/or hoarding behaviours.

We want to hear from as many frontline practitioners from all sectors to help shape the service specification. Please take a few minutes to complete this survey. Then please share it with a colleague and encourage them to fill it in.

Most health and social care professionals have encountered adults who are self-neglecting or hoarding. This is a challenging area of work because often there is no simple way to help. Self-neglect cases require long term involvement to develop trusting relationships and it has been identified as a resource pressure by a number of partner organisations.

To address and coordinate this important area of work across partner agencies, as well as developing a business case for a service for complex cases, NSAB has produced a self-neglect and hoarding county strategy which can be found here.

The survey opens on Monday 17th September and closes on Monday 29 October 2018.
