The Institute for Fiscal Studies have published a report looking at the impact on mental health of the first two months of lockdown and social distancing during the Covid-19 pandemic in the UK.
It finds that mental health in the UK has worsened substantially as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, particularly for groups that already had lower levels of mental health before Covid-19, such as young adults and women. This important to help inform how services can respond as we come out of lockdown.
The Institute for Fiscal Studies (IFS) was founded in 1969. Established as an independent research institute, IFS was launched with the principal aim of better informing public debate on economics in order to promote the development of effective fiscal policy.
