Relationships & sex education (RSE): What role can councillors play?

The Local Government Association have produced a briefing for local authorities - Relationships and sex education (RSE): Contributing to the safeguarding, sexual and reproductive health and wellbeing of children and young people. What role can councillors play?

The LGA has worked with the RSE Hub, PHE and Sex Education Forum on this briefing aims to support the transition stage to statutory status for RSE in September 2019. The briefing supports leaders in local councils to better understand the importance of quality RSE in the context of contributing to the safeguarding, sexual and reproductive health and wellbeing of children and young people and to take proactive steps to influence good quality local provision.
