QEH holds safeguarding family event

The Safeguarding Team (adults & children) at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital Kings Lynn held a ‘Safeguarding Family Event’ last Friday (22nd November 2019).

The event was part of National Safeguarding Adults Week and it focused on introducing the new Safeguarding Team for Children and Adults and raising awareness of Safeguarding. The team had ‘Dave’ the skeleton to try to get the message across with ‘hear my voice’ on his t-shirt to keep it light hearted. It covered what safeguarding encompasses in its various forms, lots of various literature, cakes, questionnaire and a raffle.

The event was well received by staff, patients and carers with over 150 people coming to talk to the team. NatWest joined the event to spread the word about financial scams and the freebies went down very well. In the new year the safeguarding team plan to do safeguarding weeks in The Hub and cover different subjects each day.

Well done all involved. If you have a story about how your team or service has been raising awareness of adult abuse please get in touch.
