NSAB publishes guidance on professional curiosity

NSAB is pleased to announce publication of guidance on professional curiosity which is an emerging theme in Safeguarding Adults Reviews (SARs), completed in Norfolk and throughout the UK.  It has long been recognised as an important concept in Children’s Services, but is equally relevant to work with adults.

This guidance explores this important topic in relation to safeguarding adults practice. It includes discussion of the potential barriers to professional curiosity, learning from SARs, developing skills in professional curiosity and how managers can support the practice among their staff.

Our thanks to Helen Thacker (Head of Service - Safeguarding, Adult Social Services, Norfolk County Council) for her help in writing this guidance.
