Boost to Norfolk's safeguarding adults partnership as Named GP starts work

Norfolk's adult safeguarding network was given a great boost this week as Dr Maria Karretti started in post as the Norfolk Named GP for Safeguarding Adults

Dr Karretti is a GP with a special interest in safeguarding and the neurodevelopmental disorders. She is also a Senior Honorary Lecturer at the regional medical school and hold a senior clinical auditor role with the out of hours service. The Named GP for Safeguarding Adults involves providing advice and support to the Adult Safeguarding CCG team and  promoting, investigating and training providers of primary care in matters relevant to the safeguarding of adults at risk of abuse and neglect in Norfolk and Waveney. In addition Dr Karretti will be supporting general practice including Out of Hours to meet their responsibilities to safeguarding adults at risk of abuse and neglect.

Dr Karretti will be working closely with the Lead Nurse for Safeguarding Adults and the Designated Children’s Safeguarding professionals to ensure a comprehensive and holistic culture which values openness, honesty and rigour where challenge is encouraged. Dr Karretti is looking forward to working alongside colleagues in the multi-agency field, supporting the ongoing work of the Safeguarding Adults Boards of Norfolk and Suffolk and empowering primary care colleagues to further develop their knowledge, understanding and skills around adult safeguarding.

Welcome Dr Karretti, great to have you as part of our safeguarding partnership.
