Law under lockdown: the impact of Covid-19 measures on access to justice and vulnerable people
The Law Society has published a report examining the measures which were introduced in response to Covid-19. It looks at health and social care and acknowledges that some services were changed to allow resources to be redirected to tackle the pandemic; it argues for the lockdown measures (which were intended to be temporary), to be reviewed to ensure that those most vulnerable in our society are receiving the care and support that they need. The report also challenges the government on access to legal representation for those at risk of domestic violence and the ban on some visitors to some hospitals, including mental health units.
