FREE training and support on adult safeguarding from SCIE
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and this has not changed in the response to the Coronavirus pandemic. The Community Services Prioritisation Plan, The COVID 2020 Act, COVID 19 Changes to the Care Act 2014 and the variety of COVID 19 Guidance are all indicating that safeguarding children and adults is as critical during COVID as it is statutory at other times.
Given all the increasing risks of abuse we need to be even more vigilance at this time. This can feel daunting to ensure you are keeping people safe and meeting your safeguarding obligations under the added pressures of COVID-19. To help support SCIE and the Department of Health and Social Care are working together to provide FREE to access training and support to people working in health and care settings.
Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE) are hosting a series of six FREE webinars on safeguarding. Each webinar will explore a different aspect of the safeguarding process, giving frontline teams an introduction to or a useful reminder of how to apply the safeguarding principles and their duties and responsibilities for keeping people safe. Maximising the benefits of remote learning, each webinar will provide:
- a presentation from a safeguarding expert
- a forum for sharing ideas
- Q&A opportunities to discuss the safeguarding challenges that they are facing.
You can sign up to one-off sessions to refresh their learning in a particular area or sign up to all six for a complete overview and introduction to safeguarding adults. These webinars are suitable for anybody currently working in or new to frontline practice in adult social care and health. The dates are:
