Does your workplace have a domestic abuse change champion?

An estimated 1.9 million adults aged 16 to 59 experienced domestic abuse in the last year. Two women each week and one man each month are killed in England and Wales by a current or former partner. Domestic abuse is a hugely destructive problem and we have a collective responsibility to tackle it

One way Norfolk has been tackling this problem is through developing Domestic Abuse Change Champions. Champions are trained to develop knowledge on asking, responding, and supporting people affected by domestic abuse, and to use their knowledge to help their colleagues to respond effectively and appropriately. Training is free. Click here to read more about their role and some example of people who have become a DA Change Champion.

Champions are supported by Domestic Abuse Change Coordinators working in their localities. Coordinators provide opportunities for champions to network, increase good practice knowledge and to be kept up to date with information to take back to their organisations. They will provide specialist advice to champions.
