Citizens Advice Domestic Abuse Service at Norwich Combined Court

While staff and volunteers for the Citizens Advice Family Court Domestic Abuse Service have had to withdraw from delivering face-to-face support at Norwich Combined court at this time due to COVID-19, they are continuing to deliver the service via phone, explaining what will happen at the hearing and addressing questions and concerns.

Advance referral to the service has always been important, but even more so now hearings are being dealt with remotely. Without an advance referral, victims of domestic abuse who would benefit from the service will miss out on support from this service.

How to refer into the service?

Click here to make for the online referral form.

By phoning Citizens Advice national Referral Hub (especially if the hearing is within 3 days)
• Applicant and respondent number: 0300 332 1000
• Partner number: 0300 330 1161

You can display this poster in your office as a reminder of the service and referral numbers if it would be useful to you.

The benefits of Citizens Advice Domestic Abuse Service

Citizens Advice recently undertook an evaluation of the service to victims of domestic abuse in the family court. 99% of victims felt that our support made them feel more confident about attending court, and 93% of stakeholders like you felt that the service had had a positive impact on the experience of victims. We want to make sure as far as possible that we continue providing this worthwhile support to victims by phone during this time.

If you have any questions or need further service leaflets, please don’t hesitate to contact Stuart Betts, Team Leader (Court), Norfolk & Suffolk Citizens Advice Witness Service on 03003 321294 / 321409.
