New learning resource on caring for people at risk of choking

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) latest issue of 'learning from safety incidents' series focuses on caring for people at risk of choking. It follows the story of a man who developed aspiration pneumonia after choking on porridge that was too thick for him.

CQC's learning from safety incidents describes a critical safety issue - what happened, what CQC and the provider have done about it, and the steps other providers can take to avoid it happening in their service.
