TSB launches emergency flee fund for domestic abuse victims

A pilot scheme has been launched in Norwich, Swindon, Wolverhampton and Walsall by TSB in partnership with Women's Aid, to help people flee abusive relationships.

The scheme, which started in December, will enable people to get up to £500 paid into their TSB bank account that only they can access.

The amount paid will be based on individual needs and will assist people with the cost of essentials, such as travel, clothing and toiletries.  People can request the support by visiting a TSB branch where some of its staff have received specialist training in supporting people experiencing domestic abuse.

TSB also has a safe spaces initiative for those needing support, where they can sit safely and receive visitors in safety.
