St Thomas Training: Legal Update Sessions with Tim Spencer-Lane (via Zoom)

St Thomas Training are holding multiple online sessions over the coming weeks looking into the Mental Capacity Act. The sessions will be led by Tim Spencer-Lane, a lawyer who specialises in mental capacity, mental health and social care law.

At the Law Commission, Tim led the review of the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards under the Mental Capacity Act 2005. The final report (including a draft Bill), published in March 2017, formed the basis of the Mental Capacity (Amendment) Act 2019. He was also responsible for the UK Law Commission's review of the regulation of health and social care professionals, and the Law Commission's review of adult social care law which formed the basis of the Care Act 2014.

Topics include deprivation of liberty for children and young people, preparing for the new cap on care costs and an update on the status of legal cases regarding the MCA.

Places are limited and you can book a spot on St. Thomas Training website where you'll find all the details of each training event.
