New support for domestic abuse victims in family courts
The Ministry of Justice has extended the Citizens Advice Witness Service until March 2020 in Norwich family court as well as 11 other family courts in England.
As part of the service, Citizens Advice trained volunteers offer practical and emotional support to victims attending court hearings. The service supports domestic abuse victims so that they feel valued, respected, informed and confident when attending family court. Victims can refer themselves for the service or a stakeholder can refer with the victim’s consent.
