Norwich City FC appoints new head of safeguarding

Norwich City Football Club have recently appointed Gary Dack as their Head of Safeguarding.

Gary joins NCFC following he retirement from Norfolk Constabulary, and has expansive experience of working in partnerships with vulnerable people at local, regional and national levels during his career as a Norfolk Detective.

He said, “I am very excited about my new role and as a lifelong Norwich City fan it is fantastic opportunity to be able to give something back to a club which has given me so much enjoyment over the years. This is my first venture into the private sector in 35 years and, having been in post for a few months now, I recognise that professional football still has some ground to make on its safeguarding journey. There is real scope to raise the profile of the football club within the wider partnership and to make a commitment to assist others where we are able. The club's safeguarding vision is to create inclusive and welcoming environments where children, young people and adults at risk feel safe, valued and respected in line with our own club values.”

Gary will attend the Central Locality Safeguarding Adults Partnership (CLASP) and Local Safeguarding Children Groups where he will seek to build upon his wealth of partnership experience.
