Fears over new DoLS arrangement

In a letter to the Times, 13 charities and rights groups have highlighted concerns over the changes to legislation for the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS). The Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards are part of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and aim to make sure that people in care homes and hospitals are looked after in a way that does not inappropriately restrict their freedom. DoLS legislation is being considered as part of the Mental Capacity (Amendment) Bill.
