Bookings open for NSAB 2018 workshops: Safeguarding adults & coercive control

NSAB is pleased to announce bookings are now open for its 2018 workshops: Safeguarding Adults & Coercive Control – an introduction, 26th & 27th June.

This FREE* half day workshop aims to increase practitioner and manager confidence in recognising and working with people who have care and support needs and are experiencing coercive control, to lead to better outcomes for this group. The workshop will discuss recent developments in legislation around controlling and coercive behaviour as linked to domestic abuse, and consider how this can be understood in a wider context of adult safeguarding. We’ll look at messages from research to inform practice before considering how to make safe enquiries, and how coercion can impact on mental capacity.
