Government publishes updated hate crime action plan
As part of Hate Crime Awareness Week, today the government has published an updated 2016 to 2020 hate crime action plan. This included a thematic review of evidence on hate crime. The plan sets out work undertaken over the past two years across Government, police and criminal justice agencies, civil society partners, and international organisations to tackle hate crime in England and Wales, whether it has been on our streets or online.
The plan sets out new measures to tackle hate crimes include a review of legislation, extra funding to support communities and improving the response to incidents.
